The bottom line for us is that this lens is awesome for two reasons that aren't so obvious. 1) It can use a thread-on filter. That is VERY rare for a lens of this focal length, and 2) It's incredible wide without being a fisheye. Sure, there's a bit of distortion if your subject is close to the lens, but that's just the physics of light. This lens does an excellent job of keeping things as undistorted as possible.
